I read on NFL.com that Preist Holmes is expected to participate in the Cheifs training camp, for he was cleared by doctors. He has been out of the game for about 2 years now and he is 33 yrs old. I kinda hope to see the old Preist Holmes but I dont know. What do you think? |

This could be the conspiracy theorist in me, but I think it's another tool in getting Larry Johnson on the field without renegotating his contract. |

I was doing research for Larry Johnson and if I need to trade him or not and I need to get Gore for him. LJ=Trade Usually return after missing complete seasons are not great. If he even makes the team he won't see many carries since Larry Johnson has proven that he can be a feature back, there's not too many RB's in the league that a coach would want to hand the ball to. Especially for a returning older RB, a return would not be easy getting banged around by Offensive Lineman and probably wouldn't make it a full season. He won't be the same and if this is true, he might not be a cheif next season depending on how strong he comes back...Don't 4get he had the touchdown record...and was at the top of his game before injury...If he is still productive, he may not like being number 2 to larry johnson (even though he is the #2 back behind LT) but i guess we'll find out next season!!!! Can i finally get a best answer??? DAMN!!! Good because I'm a big fan of his. I hope he will do well and show LJ how it's done. preist holmes is a excellent running back though age might have caught up with him he is still very agile he is also very fast so yes i think he will do great When Priest Holmes was healthy in the past he was a Beast, but he is getting some age on him considering his 'mileage' and position, most RB's take a ton of abuse, probably more than any other position really. He has also been injury prone at times which is unfortunate considering his talent. I would love to see the old Priest Holmes make a return but I don't really see it happening, but seriously I hope I'm wrong. They've pretty much settled on Larry Johnson...Priest would not start over Larry Johnson now... This is only to help the Larry Johnson contract issue along, trying to get Larry to lower his asking price. Larry is a great running back, but there is always an issue with this guy. He deserves to make top money, but more than LT..He is in Kansas City for Christ's sake, not California. Priest Holmes is one of the best backs I ever saw I think he'll be fine. The Chiefs' offensive line is so good that anybody can run behind them. Jim Brown could come out of retirement and rush for 1000 yards behind that line. If Larry Johnson were to continue his holdout or get traded away, the Chiefs could use Holmes and Michael Bennett as a backfield committee and probably be fairly successful. Their offense is likely to take a bit of a drop overall anyway, with Brodie Croyle the most likely candidate to win the QB position, so he will need some time to develop into an NFL starter. |
