| Football Cleats: Metal or Plastic? High or Low? |
|
Which is better, metal or plastic? Higher tops or lower? I found a comfortable under armor one that I know fits at the store. It's low and metal. I tried on a high one that was comfortable, but big also. It was high. |

Metal and Low, the high ones make you trip up sometimes if the ground is really hard and metal sticks into the ground better whereas plastic sometimes doesnt always go into the ground. |

Metal cleats are not allowed in football. Baseball allows them in some high school teams, college and pro. When it comes to plastic or metal metal is better but some leagues don't allow metal and when it comes to high top or low top it all depends on your position I would say high tops because if you don't you will have ankle problems trust me I know i had one surgery and 3 broke ankles in my playing days um those metal ones are baseball shoes, if your caught wereing metal cleats u will be ejected from the game in any level Depends on the surface and the person. Most linemen offense and defense wear high. Most quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, and defensive backs usually wear low. No one wears metal cleats in football anymore, they are only worn in baseball. In football it just depends on the surface whether they wear a cleat or a turf shoe. High tops, I played for nine years I know for a fact the best protection is high tops tied tight! |
