Soccer cleats don't have cleats on the toes and they're not hi-tops. I'd buy him some football cleats. He will have better traction when running and he will have better support so he won't be in danger of twisting an ankle. No toe cleat on the soccer boot the difference is the how high up the ankle the shoe goes. Soccer Cleats can't be used for football. It is against the rules in football. Soccer Cleats are ridged hard plastic. They have the ability to cut a player especially in a pile. Sure the football screw ins are hard plastic but the cleat is cicular and only about a half inch in legnth. Most soccer cleats have low cut ankle support also. That makes the ankle have a bit more flextion. In football the cleats range from low top -to mid top- to hi top. Hi tops have the most ankle support and are usally worn by the bigger heavyer players like offensive and defensive lineman. Mid- tops are good for all positions on the feild. Low tops I don't really recomend for Football. They give no ankle support and when bodies are pushing other bodies around you need some support. Football cleats offer more protection to the foot than soccer. Soccer cleats are made for mobility. |
