The suit is made by Reebok. It was requested by 49ners coach Mike Nolan to honor his dad. Nolans dad was a coach and wore a suit. Del Rio is wearing it in support. Nolan asked to wear a suit at the beginning of the year, but as you said it was not Reebok gear so until Reabok made one he could not wear it.

This really is the reason. Not because he wanted to be professional or to look polished. Look it up online. Or listen to the announcers on ESPN or FOX or anybody who is talking about it. I just heard Nolan on Monday night Football

No..you can wear what ever you want..the coaches are trying to start a new thing.

I think the NFL is thinking of starting to wear suites during the games.

NFL let them. dont know why but i like them. seems old school and professional.

the new rules are ur only allowed to wear a suit for 2 games and Reebok make special suits for coaches but there doing it out of respect for the other coaches who wore a suit

I think it's nice to see a coach in a suit. Sometimes it's kind of...blah? to see a coach in sweats. A suit just makes the coach look really polished and professional.

Besides, he looks pretty damn good in that suit too ;-) So that helps.

Thanks for saving me 5 points. I wondered the same thing. I must add though that though he did look nice, it seemed a little out of place. Maybe because I'm so used to the other. Been watching football since Nixon was President!
