| Which sport is rougher; rugby, american football, or another other sport that whats to pretend to be? |

With the American football season coming up this will be my week1 of my proof of american football manliness. This sport is rougher, tougher, and more dangerous than all other major sports. i am biased but if you can prove to me that another sport if rougher and tougher or as much as i am "all ears". |

I don't like american catchball, I prefer rugby, I think it's rougher. |

rugby is alot rougher u talk about 300 lb guys hittin each other in rugby u get stomped on the head hit by big mothers u look at a scrum n think theres nothing in it but i played in the forwards ill tell you when a scrum or ruck collapses its scary saying that im a madden addict now : ) Report It I'd say american football. rugby Rugby by far over American football, but from what I have heard lacrosse is the roughest. I've never seen so much padding and pauses in the game than in American Football. In Rugby there is no padding, so that's much tougher. A lot of martial arts are tougher too. And in motor sports you can die, so thats tougher too. And in ping pong you might get a ball in the eye, so thats tougher too. Check out Rugby Union. It is played in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Ireland, and many other countries on an international level. If your game was so great it would also be played by other countries as well. when you factor in the size strength and speed of american football it's pretty clear which is tougher, no other sport in the world has the amount of severe injuries american football has 300+ ponders flying into each other, american football is violence at a higher level than all other sports. It sounds like you are trying to compensate for feelings of inadequacy elsewhere. If you believe you are 'rough and tough' by playing American football, then your question is irrelevant. Just play the game to the best of your ability and enjoy it. Football(American) Lacrosse...They absolutely hammer each other and try taking an Indian rubber ball on an unpadded area of the body. If you're looking purely at the size of the athletes then the collisions in the NFL are unequalled, no other sport let's 300lb men hit 200lb men. I'm not going to address the padding/helmet issue, it's a chicken and the egg argument. Watch some rugby once in your life. You will then know the answer is rugby. American football has become to wimpy. The CFL is better than the NFL. I played football for 10 years, and it is a rough, physically demanding sport, But rugby is just as rough, and those maniacs play without pads. Those guys are tough, it's no wonder they drink so much beer after the game. Another sport that is just as rough is Ice Hockey. These guys are constantly slamming into one another at higher speeds than football, and landing on ice instead of the ground (Ouch). Also, the hockey players get one day off between games to recover from all the physical abuse, I'll address the pads issue. Are Boxers wimpy for wearing boxing gloves? Do you think they were gloves to protect the other person's head or hands? It had been proven in boxing that they can hit harder with gloves on then without gloves. Same principle applies in Football. They wear pads to protect themselves from their hits, not the hits from others. All sports are tough but to say they are wimps for being smart by wearing pads is a stupid thing to say. That's like saying auto-racers should not wear seat belts or motor cross people are not that tough because they wear helmets. A lot of sports fans especially those from down under think that Rugby is rougher because they wear no pads. I think its just that same reason that American football is rougher. If anyone has played sandlot football you know that its very similar to Rugby (no pads). When you make a tackle its controlled so that you do not get hurt because of the lack of pads. The brain will adjust your hit to the fact that your not wearing pads. Tag-team, cage, barbed-wire, no rules, falls count anywhere, ironman, WWE XXX divas mud match. |
