I'm gonna sign up for the high school football team running back. i just wanna know if they provide the protective gear and if they do. which ones?

Yea, you will have to pay for very little. At my personal school the only thing they don't provide you with, that you HAVE to buy is cleats. We recieve shoulder, knee, thigh, hip, and but pads. Practice pants and jersey, helmet, mouth guard, and even compression shorts. It all depends on where you go, but usually the cleats are the only essential thing that needs to be purchased.

Most places that I know, you only have to provide your cleats, cup,gloves,undershirts and mouthpeice.

Other things you are expected to use are common sense--like compression shorts, a shirt to wear under your shoulder pads, etc.
