I have noticed a lime green dot on quarterbacks helmets during the preseason games.

The NFL is showing compassion toward people of Arabic decent by placing a dot on the helmet of each NFL player.

Wow! People don't pay attention. It is Hindus that where the dot on their foreheads not Arabic people. If your going to be racist don't be ignorant about... well I guess if your racist you can't help but be ignorant. Report It

by rule 1 player on the field is aloud to have a communication device inside their helmet, that shows what player has it and it's obviously always the QB

Wrong to the first answer. It's for the referee so they can see that the QB is the only one wearing the helmet with the radio equipment in it for receiving plays from the coaches.


Actually, The helmets with communications gear are now required to have the dot so the refs can enforce the rule (max one comm. helmet on the field per team).

I guess there must have been some cheating that was not publicized.

It shows that they are wearing radio receiver helmets. Only one green dot helmet is allowed on the field for offense and defense.

It indicates to the referee who the player that has the microphone in his helmet is.. ..

When a helmet is wired it has to have a green dot on it. It is a new league rule that is in place for this year. Every helmet that is radio wired has to have a sticker.
