| How in the world do football players with dreadlocks manage to put on their helmets? |
|
Do they require a bigger helmet than usual,or are helmets now being custom made for them, |

as a person who once had an Afro and played football, i can tell you those players do exactly nothing more. When you get fitted with a helmet, they fit it for your head, hair and all. Unless someone has the odd superpower of growing hair REALLY fast, their head already had the dreads BEFORE they get fitted with their helmet. I had to keep my 'fro for the season or my helmet probably wouldn't have fitted properly. Same with anyone with long hair. And 'no' they don't need custom helmets. So 'yes' they would need 'bigger' helmets with the dreads than without, but not custom. |

That is a very good question, but I'm sorry I don't know the answer. Bigger helmets, I guess. Hahaha good question.. I dont know.. I have always wonder that too. Great ? If would be interesting to know if they get bigger helmets. butch wax They pick up the helmet (with their hands), and place it over their head/facial region. Darth Brady how would you do it? I wonder that myself. I've always had the girly thought of why would somebody want sweaty hair on their neck, but then realized that I personally can't stand that when I work-out. I also wonder if they get their hair pulled a lot during plays. That must hurt, but then again these guys get their bones snapped back into place between plays. LOL I suppose in the pro's they could have a helmet custom-made, but usually they have to wear a helmet that is a little too big for them and it doesn't fit right. It doesn't bother me so much at the pro level, or even college. They're adults and are free to make bad choices. But it worries me to see the trend going down to the High School level, where I can see it leading to a lot of injuries. they probably just put on a regular helmet. but it pinches, i know from experience. I think they strip all of the padding out of the inside of the helmet and you just roll with the hair God gave you to protect your cranium. That's when you have some serious faith. They probably lube their helmets and dreds up before the game. LOL I dunno,,, but I wish someone would grab a handful of them and pull em out.. They look rediculous. |
