| Why do football players leave one or two helmet straps flapping in the wind? |
|
All players used to strap their helmets on. Now, it seems to be the in thing to leave one or both straps off (donovan mcflab for example) This seems ghetto to me, like the pants falling off young punks asses. If they don't want to buckle the strap, why not just cut it off? |

I think in the pros it's more laziness than anything. |

It is done because it is easier to talk. If you will notcie after a play Peyton and Tom will unbutton thier chin strap and button back right before the snap. Some just don't do that for comfort. Same reason players don't wear cups once they get older. No. It is more comfortable. Report It Simple...... they think it looks cool. they're lazy, or aren't planning on getting hit. i think a lot of times the QBs don't wear them is so they can shout out the plays at the line, and having two straps on each side won't let them open their mouth's as much. Man, that has bugged me to. Two reasons. One, so the quarterbacks can talk-shout with more ease. Two, they get knocked loose and the players are to lazy to snap them back on, and sometimes, believe it or not, they can't get them buttoned back together It's easier to talk. It is more comfortable to have your straps loose. Especially befor the play. But after that i think it needs to be buckled. |
