what is the point of helmet stickers in college football? how do players get them?

I played college football for 4 years I was a 4 year starter and on full scholarship...We got them for team supurlatives...IE outstanding block gets 1, 5 knockdowns on offense gets 1, if offense had a gut check drive we'd all get one on offense and so on and so on...If you need more info check my source.

Ohio State gets them for great plays,blocks and decisions made.
