They are celebrating their 75th anniversary |

I tend to agree with you. I searched for an explanation, but all I saw was "it was throwback day". Very strange. Well maybe they are ashamed of them and don't want to wear them on a Monday Night HOME OPENER. Really that does sound stupid and I hope someone explains the REAL reason. ok here is one reason.... because the redskins in a monday night game and everyone will watch it.... i mean everyone wants to see the eagles anyway but against DETRIOT.. it gives the non-diehard fans a reason to watch. I also think that is when they are going to announce the 75th anniversary team. it was the last time they played in Detroit maybe???? It's a marketing ploy the more different jerseys a team wears the more they can sell. They want to expose as many people as possible to the jerseys so everyone can say "hey that's a cool jersey, I want one". it was throwback day. alot of teams do that just so the fans can see what it was like way back in the day. the chargers did it to, when they wore the powder blue jerseys with the white helmets, and the packers have done it when they wore the gold and black acme packers uniforms. i dont know if there are specific times when teams do it, but it happens every now and then I don't know why they are wearing them against the Lions. But they are celeberating there 75th season. Go EAGLES! |
