I mean with every good player always being in trade rumors, why should I spent my money for an expensive Jersey, when I dont even know if the player in my jersey will last more than a year before he is wearing another teams jersey.

Example. I bought the Moss Jersey a few months ago, and know it looks he will be traded before the season even starts. another one is the Charles Woodson Jersey which I bought two years ago, I cant use no longer for the fact that he is with the packers know. has this happened to any of you , and how do you feel about it?

I hear you. Me and my friend always complain about that. He bought a cool Javon Walker jersey, then a few months later the guy started complaining about money and the Packers traded him away. We decided it's worth the money buying a classic, retired players jersey from Mitchell and Ness. That way it lasts a lifetime and you don't have to buy a jersey every two years.

I buy them more for the team than the player but thats just me.

You can buy an LT jersey, he is not going anywhere.

I feel you man! I've bought two Browns jerseys, and both players were traded or cut soon after. The next one I buy will be a throwback or have no name on it. I was thinking about a #17 jersey with no name- it can double for a Braylon Edwards / Brian Sipe throwback.

Watch the character of players when they get signed. Also check out their contracts. People who are emotional about playing on a certain team LT, Brady, Favre etc. Those are the jerseys to get. Never get good players who you don't know much about like Merriman or Burress.

Ah, a Raiders fan, are we? Sadly for your team, nothing is sacred and finite. The player they believe is going to be the "golden child" or franchise player that they're suppose to be rallying their team around can be thrown away rather easily! I do understand how you feel about that, but I agree with the other two guys that posted an answer. 1) I get players I really like, it doesn't matter whether they are on the team or not. If that doesn't work for you, 2) I would get throwback legendary players. (ie. Marcus Allen, Howie Long, Alzado, Bo Jackson)

You can always buy the replicas for cheaper. If you're going to invest in an authentic for a few hundred bucks, go w/ the aforementioned: LT, Manning (Peyton), Brady, Favre, etc.

Don't go for the flavors of the month, unless you like collecting jerseys for fun. Maybe get a rookie jersey, so you know he's on the team for a good 3 years...
