You yanks always amaze me, millions of you emigrated to the USA, and many of you came from London, Bob Hope came from Eltham. Yet when you do start to look at your roots and English football you support teams like Manchester United. Learn what its like to suffer with me, we come from a good season last year to a disaster start this year, were bottom of the premier. Wise up because we 'Charlton' supporters need all the help we can get, surporting Charlton means defending us whereever you go. So, all you yanks with a desire to support an English club rise up and show us whrere you stand and let 'Charlton' rise up the leauge with you You will become as one with the mass. Charlton, Charlton, Charlton, All the best |

Yanks? Is this the 1940s. Mr. Limey? Millions came from London to the US? Where did you get that idea? Most of the Cockneys were shipped to Australia. If anything, the vast majority of immigrants from Britain to America came in the 1830-90s and from impoverished agricultural areas like Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, Cornwall, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Cumberland not from large urban areas (yes, I know three of these are "near" London but they are not London per se). |

That's the Old World way of thinking. Many fans are like that but most are fairweather bandwagon jumpers and gravitate towards the star sides and players. A "real" team. What is that? Reverse snobbism? Report It Soccer ? thats for little girls, and sissy's to play because, they can't take a hit in REAL football. FOOTBALL YOU BET ! I'm Scots - Irish and Anglo - Norman, and my ancestors have been over here since before the Revolutionary War, so I have absolutely no recollection of soccer...Sorry 'bout your luck |
