|Has any team ever had home field advantage for the Superbowl?|
no, no one has ever played on their home field. the 49ers came closest, when thay played superbowl 19 at stanford stadium in palo alto, right outside of san francisco
naw man thats a hard question
Not yet,but with the parity caused by the salary cap,and now with theleague having Superbowls in some northern cities,it's bound to happen pretty soon.
Don't forget about 1980, the LA Rams lost to Pittsburgh at Pasadena. That is definitely in the neighborhood.
No. They never play the superbowl in one of the teams stadiums.
no they are not allowed too
It will happen the next time San Diego gets the SB!
Not yet, but I heard that the Colts put a bid in for their new stadium, and they usually go to the playoffs every year, so they've got a shot at it.
No. I think people would find it unfair if it did happen, and maybe the NFL would move the venue to a neutral site.
No but the Deathroit Lions came close until Eddie Murray who was automatic missed a short field goal that would beaten the 49's and sent them to the Bowl in Pontiac Silverdome.. 1981 ithink it was
Super Bowl VI, Dallas beat Miami 24-3 (I think) in the Orange Bowl.
Nope, but a few squads came extreamly close, (like the Jags 3 years ago) . It is bound to happen sooner or later(especially with the rebuilt Card's and the Colts putting up their stadiums to host)
