The 5th round is exactly where Troy Smith should have been drafted.
He is 6-0, and though Drew Brees is also six feet, for every one Drew Brees, there are numerous short quarterbacks that come out of college every year that never make it in the NFL.
He's supposedly EXTREMELY ATHELTIC, but ran only a 4.7 40 yard dash, which is barely better than Brady Quinn and no where near Michael Vick, who some compared him to. With that 40 yard dash, he isn't going to be able to rush for a lot of yards in the NFL. Hell, if he got ran down by the defensive ends of Florida, how is he gonna play against freaks like Julius Peppers of Dwight Freeney?
And finally, his accuracy is awful. His passes are all over the place that the only reason he put up good numbers in college was because he played with good receivers. So why would teams risk their high draft pick on a quarterback that is short, not that fast, and clearly not the most accurate one in the draft?
Face it, he won the trophy because he plays in the Big Ten, which is by far the most overrated conference in the nation. Just look at what happened when the supposedly "best team" in the nation played against the underdogs of the SEC that most people gave no chance.

He is too short with a weak arm no comparison to quinn and russell Why do people KEEP ASKING THIS. He is SHORT. He did POOR AT THE COMBINE. He LOST in the Title game and had a HORRIBLE game. He did TERRIBLE in the Senior Bowl. Next we could talk about teams not really wanting or needing a QB. Heisman does not equal good NFL player. The problem with Smith is that he is short. A lot of scouts are not impressed with arm strenght and accuracy. They also dont think he will be able to read defenses well. He sort of reminds me of a less athletic Mike Vick.
