Start by trading Culpepper to Oakland for their 1st round pick (6th overall), then trade that pick and Troy Williamson to Houston for their #1 pick. With that pick, draft Reggie Bush, and with their 17th overall pick, draft a quarterback.
Here is the reasoning: Houston doesn't need a RB or QB. They wanted Williamson last year, but the Vikings got him. Culpepper doesn't know the WCO, and he probably won't be back from injury in time to learn it. Plus, Culpepper and Moss have a history that Oakland can exploit. Johnson knows the WCO. Keep him as starter and groom his replacement for a couple of years. While the Vikings current RB's are good, none are really a "feature back" that they need. Reggie can fill role.
What's your thoughts on this scenario?

Everything on that scenario looks right except Houston would be crazy to trade the rights to Bush.
I see the vikings trading Culpepper to Arizona for their 1st Round pick, where the Vikes will draft an Offensive Lineman, then draft a Qb with the 17th pick. Denny loves Culpepper, and donuts.

You must be a Viking fan, we never draft right.
Yes a RB is a big need but Denver is a good example that value for that position at any point in the draft. Bush will be expensive so I would rather them not draft him but do a very thorough job scouting and pick up a stellar back later. Report It
Consider this: The NFL is now structured in a way that makes it extremely risky to draft a QB in the top 10 picks. Far too many of the highly drafted QBs don't do well in their first 5 years in the league and unfortunately that is the common length of their first, off-the-charts, expensive contract. A team is better off letting some other team draft a QB, get tired of him not reaching expectations or wearing out his welcome or not ever getting off the bench. This serves to weed out the bad ones. Seattle got Haselback off the Green Bay bench. Denver got Plummer when he wore out his welcome in Arizona. Tampa won a Super Bowl after grabbing Brad Johnson from Washington. Tom Brady & Ben R. are exceptions.
So how about this; Let Houston draft home-town hero Reggie Bush. The Vikes then trade Culpepper to Houston for David Carr, a 4 year veteran (former #1 pick) with a rocket arm who is languishing in a bad system with a bad offensive line and bad/changing coaching. That gives Houston's new coach a fresh start with a new QB and it also gives them Culpepper (who has worn out his welcome in MN) to mentor Bush. MN could even throw in Troy Williamson for Houston's 1st pick in the 2nd round. MN would get a young gun in Carr and would have Brad Johnson here to mentor him. That would also give 1st year coach Childress a fresh start with a new QB.
