| NFL playoff team with the worst record? |
|
In the history of the NFL, what team had the worst regular season record that still made the playoffs? |

During a full season, no team has gotten in with worse than a .500 record. The Browns won the AFC Central in 1985 with an 8-8 record; while the Saints (1990), Jets (1991), Lions (1999), Cowboys (1999), Vikings (2004), and Rams (2004) have won Wild Card berths with 8-8 records. The strike of 1982 reduced the season to nine games, and I believe there were a couple teams that got in at 4-5. Only the 2004 Vikings and Rams won their first-round games. |

I dont know the history ones, but this year the Green Bay Packers will get in with worst record in the playoffs. Can't seem to find it to confirm it but I believe an 8-8 team made the play-offs back in the 80s. Will happen again this year in the NFC probably. The Rams made it with a 8-8 record and it looks like it will happen again this year 10-6 is the best non-playoff record, I think. i think there were 7-9 teams that got a wild card but that was when there were only 30 teams and before the restructure The Giants this year if they get in will be the most pathetic team in history to reach the playoffs... |
