I just saw Shane Lechlers 70 yard punt and it got me wondering wat is the longest punt in history and by who?

Some guy in denver playing for the jets punted the ball 98 yards. Yea its true so give me my 10 points boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!... YEA

I don't know but Mat McBriar had a 72 yard punt last year and that wasn't the longest punt in history.

I think the longest NFL punt is 98 yds, done in the 60s or 70s by a punter for the Jets.

well the longest one i can remember was by randall cunningham... it went 91 yards.. he punted from his own endzone.. i think it was against the giants...
