I would like to make my Madden '04 special teams badass. I looked at the default setup, and they they appear to use almost all 2nd string players. I would like to replace them to make them better. However, I don't know what each position does on special teams. For example, on punts, should I use defensive or offensive linemen? Why are there offensive linemen on kickoffs?

merker: i'm still having fun with it? also, i bought it for like 19.99 along with all the '04 ea sports games. i'll buy '07 maybe when it's that cheap. btw, would you know if the franchise mode in '07 is longer than 30 years? i did buy nfl coach, but the interface stinks.

On kickoffs change the linemen to linebackers and defensive backs. Mainly to strong safeties because they have the right amount of speed and tackling ability. Also on punts change your returner to a reciever with high acceleration, catch, and carry. That way you blast thru for the touchdown.

Why are you still playing '04?
