|Why cant high school players go straight to the NFL?|
Why would someone want to? That is unless they have a suicide wish. This isnt basketball, this is a contact sport and if people go in out of highschool they get hurt. Take a look at the size difference between an 18 year old boy coming out of highschool and compare him to a senior in college. The highschool grad is sooo much weaker that its not even funny. Now compare him to a 34 year old man who has been playing in the NFL for 12 years. It is lunacy to think that players cant go to the NFL out of highschool. Lets not even think about how undeveloped players are out of highschool, how little expierience they have, and how hard it would be for them to get better playing against the caliber guys they would in the NFL.
cause the majority are not fast and strong enough. they would never make it.
They arent fully devolped to play real PRO football.
Because they are not physically and mentally mature enough!
We wouldn't be ready for it.
There not big or strong enough. When it comes to preparing players for the league college football prepares players bodies for the physical trauma more than anything else.
Think of a 18 yeard old boy, getting busted around by a 30 year old man. Their bodies just cant handle that, no matter how developed they are.
i don't know what the rule is on that. i think they have to spend at least a year in college.
Amobi Okoye is 19 years old comign out of Louisville. He's going to be the youngest person drafted in the first round since 1970. There simply is no way for anyone comign staright out of high school to be able to physically compete with men on that level.
they wouldnt have the abalities yet
okay not trying to be rude but I am 19 a year out of highschool and I have a nice build do you think I could ever withstand hits from a 200+ linebacker for 16 games? there is no way a kid could play football like he can the other sports it has nothing to do with mental matureness yes most aren't mature enough but thats not stopping them its the size factor 18 and 19 year old kids just are not devoloped enough to play the game at that caliber.
Haven't you seen "Friday Night Lights".
They are too young and not ready in most cases. An 18 year old offensive lineman who went right to the NFL would be destroyed by veteran defensive lineman. Receivers and running backs wouldn't be ready for pro football hitting. Corner backs, safeties and linebackers would not be ready for the speed and tackling power needed for por football. Plus college is a better test of readiness for the pros than high school is. It shows that some HS stars aren't good enough for the pros and that some unknown HS players are good enough to play in the NFL. Plus college football is entertaining.
Physically and mentally not ready........
The rule is you must be three years removed from graduating high school. The reason for not allowing players to directly enter the nfl draft from highschool is twofold. First the physical development of most highschool players is not at the level of a college player entering the draft. Okoye graduated high school at the age of 14, and he was already big then, college lifting put more muscle and quickness on him, not to mention technique. He is really a freak for being so large at 14 but what made him a pro prospect was 4 years of college workout and diet programs. Secondly the NFLPA wants to have more mature players in the league, similar to why the NBAPA began their one year rule.
because of the physical part of the game, no sport is equivalent 2 football....no 1 bench presses 400lbs squats 600lbs runs a 4.5 40 has a 38 vertical leap at 17 18.....paralysis occurs in football, with men playing. put in a kid fresh out of high school and u'll see paralysis become a common injury and death become what paralysis is now
in my opinion, the reality as that high schoolers can't join the nfl for the same reason they can't join the nba anymore, the league wants free advertising for it's product.
They don't have enough strength or experience. And they don't have enough body mass.
so that the high school kids dont get KILLED!!!!!!!!!
The N.F.L. isn't the N.B.A.
you cant go from swimming in a simple training pool to the Atlantic Ocean now can you???
it's called suicide.
becuase NFL players are so much farther ahead od highshcool players they would get hurt pro players have been on serious weight training
The words "premature death" come to mind.
