|Why do football players put black smudges under their eyes?|
Football players put black smudges under their eyes to cut the glare of the sun.. they often play with sun in their eyes and in such a rough sport sunglasses are impratical,not to mention unsafe, besides,if they wore sunglasses, they'd have to keep taking them off and putting them on. With the black smudges, they can see unhindered, but still have the benefit of cutting the glare of the sun.

i am a football player and when i do it, it looks cool and when the sun is out it is attracted to the black and dusent get in your eyes
To make opponents feel threatened, to intimidate and when they have numbers on them to show where their from, What region of the country their from or their area code
