Troy Smith isn't expected to do very much in the NFL. He probably won't be picked until about the 4th or 5th round. Not only is he small, but the scouts also think he has problems with intelligence, character (he's a big risk to be another Pacman Jones), release time on his passes, and accuracy. He really isn't an ideal player for the NFL. The thought is that in college, he was just a player of very mediocre talent who looked great because he played on a very, very talented college team. As they say, the QB always gets too much credit when his team plays well, and he always gets too much blame when his team loses.

Did he come out for the Draft or did he stay in college for his senior year

being the best college player has nothing to do with being the best potential pro player. if you really watch the techniques and strategies used, its almost different sports for some positions.

because he is just a buckeye. they do good in college and never go anywere after that....... thats the answer. ohio state is a good college for sports and edu....... he went for the edu. not the nfl!

It's ridiculous. One bad game and he drops like a broken elevator. Brady Quin had numerous pathetic games and still goes in the first round. On a brighter note, Tedd Ginn Jr. DID go higher than Brady Quinn. HaHa. Another good point. Quinn went to the BROWNS, so he probably will not win many games in his NFL career.

College ball and the NFL, if you haven't noticed, aren't the same. Russell was an obvious first pick among the QB's.

Heisman or Not that has nothing to do with it.

He does not fit the mold of a NFL Quarterback, mostly because of his size greatly hampers him, he relies on mobility and running outside the pocket....like a Michael Vick. But he is under 6 ft, like 5'10, which in most cases he wouldnt be able to see over NFL lineman or be able to stand in the pocket and see whats going on, on the field. Its his size why a lot of people arent taking him, also I dont think their is a great need for QB's this draft either.

Because a heisman trophy usually goes to whoever the media believes is the best player on the best team, the winner usually appearing in the national championship game. Also, Troy Smith and the Buckeyes were overrated last year, the big ten was overrated as a conference and Troy Smith got the benefit of the doubt before the bowl games began to show that. if the heisman was presented after the bowl games, Troy Smith would not have won it.

He'll be drafted sometime after the 5th round tommorow. QBs that win the Heisman aren't always NFL stars.

Just look at recent history Gino Torretta, Charlie Ward, Danny Wuerffel, Eric Crouch, Chris Wienke, and Jason White are all QBs that have won the Heisman that were either busts or had no impact at all in the NFL.

Heisman Trophy does not mean good NFL player. Take a few moments of your time and look it up, there are a lot of players that won the Heisman and weren't early draft picks. Troy Smith is not projected to be a good NFL QB.
