| Is 6'6" 250 pounds too big for a high school football player (defensive line?)? |

The reason I am asking is I am almost 16 and still growing. I play D tackle and somebody told me if I get much bigger (which the Dr. says i will) I should switch to O line. But O line is boring cuz I like to smash through the line...just blocking is a bore |

There are big players, small players, short players, and tall players. All that matters is your ability to play the game. Although, your size is a great start. For that height and weight combination, defensive line seems the most appropriate. Plus, college coaches will be salivating over your size initially, which is a benefit for you. But, in the later stages of recruiting, your talent will be the ultimate factor in whether or not you receive a scholarship or chance to play at the next level. |

nope. I'm sure the coach wouldn't think so either no, I'm sure you'll have college coaches drooling Yea... he should be the kicker no go for is it mite work for you.. How can a defensive lineman be too big??? ARE U KIDDING ME DEFFENSIVE LINEMAN ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BIG! JUST MAKE SURE YOURE FAST! IF UR THAT BIG YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO TACKLE LIKE THEY TEACH U TO U CAN JUST KNOCK THEM OVER LIKE BOWLING PINS! Not at all. That's actually an ideal fit for a defensive lineman. HELL NO! wait is it 250 pounds of marshmallow or muscle? what are you, tackle or end? if youve got 250 pounds of mostly muscle college coaches will fantasize about you in their sleep can you ever be too big. no that's perfect. if you're 6'6" you are blessed. that's the size of an NFL defensive lineman there's no such thing as too big for high school football... maybe too unathletic...not too big. im sure the opposing team's offensive line thinks so hell the bigger the better, you should dominate with that size It depends on how low you fire off on the snap. Sometimes taller players have a hard time keeping their shoulders low and getting leverage. If you can do that then size won't matter as much as your speed, agility, and intelligence |
