The NFL Player that makes you wonder....what happened?

You ever sit back and think about all the hyped up players of the past, and wonder.....((((What the heck happened?)))) You know....the guy that was suposed to be the Savior of a Franchise, but ended up being a disater.

Lets take fromer #1 NFL Draft Pick Tim Couch for example....

I feel sorry for him, because he was thrown in the fire with nothing to protect him from burning out. I think to myself......(((What happened?))) It was sad the way it ended too.... Getting booed by your home crowd while walking off the field with a injury.

So my Question to you is....Who is your "Franchise player" that makes you wonder....((((What happened?)))) lol *peace*

It has to be Ryan Leaf! I remember before the draft, there was a lot of arguements over which QB should go first - Ryan Leaf or Peyton Manning. The experts were saying that Leaf has so much upside potential to grow into an amazing QB and that Manning was at his peak already and wouldn't improve much more. It's amazing how wrong they were and how their careers went totally in opposite directions.

Ricky Willaims. He lived up to his expectations for about his first 3 years, but then he drugged himself up and was suspended for a whole year, struggled last year, and got drugged up again this year. Now he's injured for the whole year on his CFL team. Can you say " bust"?

Ricky Williams...I can wait to see his 'Ricky Williams True Hollywood story'

Rashaun sallam

Dimitrius Underwood, minnesota's #1 pick in 1999

You must be getting a lot of Chargers fans responding. Ryan Leaf is the obvious choice. He didn't help himself with his off-field conduct.

Sadly, I think Philip Rivers may be next in line. Chargers fans are looking to him to lead us into the playoffs, and he has yet to take a snap in a game that mattered. I hope he gets an opportunity to get the experience he needs, and don't forget that it took Drew Brees three seasons to get where he is.

Peter Warrick
Akili Smith
Ki Jana Carter, #1 pick in 1995
Steve Emtman, #1 pick in 1992
Jeff Blake
Curtis Enis

Right now in KC it's Ryan Simms. He was the 8th pick overall in the draft a few years ago and just hasn't done squat here. Quarterbacks are ALWAYS an iffy proposition. But a defensive line man that was taken w/ the 8th overall pick needs to be a solid contributor. We are wondering if the guy can even play a the NFL level!

Akili Smith, he came out in the so called class of QB's in 1999. He was picked third overall in the draft. I mean is this guy even in the NFL???? Let's just say the 1999 draft was full of disaster and controversy.

Ryan Leaf

Ricky "What In The Hell" Willaims

Ryan Leaf's crash-and-burn has to rank right up there.

every 1st round pick for the browns from 1999 to 2003

The draft is a crap-shoot in both basketball and football. No one can predict the future. Any person that is drafted these are the following questions that are to be answered.
1). Work ethic?
2). Coachability?
3). Will player improve or is he as good as he will ever be?
4). Heart/will?
5). Adaptability?
6). Will the player quit in the face of adversity or fight back?
7). Is he just a front-runner or a real winner?
