| How do you feel about the NFL rule that denies the defender the opportunity to prevent a reception ...? |

by forcing the receiver out of bounds before he could come down? ie. Receiver is near the sidelines, he leaps, makes the catch, and would have come down in bounds. Current NFL rules grant the reception if a defender forces the receiver out of bounds before he can land under those conditions. Also, I dont think this has always been the rule, any history on this? |

I think the current rule is fine, and I don't think it's a change. If the defender can hit the ball away then he is doing his job, This rule acts like the forward motion rule, I think it's fair. |

It would be more objective that way. I like any idea that takes referees judgment calls away. maybe to compromise they can say the receiver just has to get one foot down I feel it's very much in-line with the rest of football. For instance, regular pass interference....or, If you're allowed to prevent a receiver from landing in bounds after catching a pass....that would be bad. Just imagine....a guy catches a pass - 5 yards from the side line, a corner catches the player and walks him 5 yards towards the side line and drops him........could happen...... its ok, but unfortunately it is not reviewable because it is labeled a 'judgement call,' thats y i dont like it |
