Does anybody really get excited by watching some overweight and overpaid men hitting a ball so small that you can barely see out of the stadiums and then run in circles?

What could possibly be more fascinating than that? Watching paint dry?

Yes it's the greatest pastime ever...some 70 years ago maybe.

I personally find the playoffs the best. Regular season I could care less about.

well it seams long because it's 162 games not including post season and games last 3.5 hours usually
I like baseball because it has so much strategy to it and games are fun to go to

The main problem with baseball is you can pick 6 teams at beginning of year and one of those will win WS. All other teams have become nothing but triple A teams for the big money spenders. Teams like Pirates will never make the playoffs again. Cutting small market teams out of the mix hurts baseball immensely.

I like it...but boy to me that is what basketball is...jeez laweez...seems like they get maybe a week off and they are back to playing what seems like 600 games a year. Give me football anytime.

I play baseball, well played...but yes the season does get boring after July really.

And yes it's pretty boring to watch.

I loved playing, so if you really love baseball, it makes it a little easier to watch.


When either going to a game or watching it on TV, it's good to be doing something else as well...like surfing the internet...

Basically, there needs to be a salary cap to make things more competitive, like an above poster mentioned...

Baseball is a thinking mans game. Thinking is obviously something you're not very good at. If you have any understanding of the game, then baseball is exciting. Baseball doesn't really need you as fan anyways. You'd probably be just another drooling Yankees fan that can only manage to say "26 rings".

baseball is a relaxing sport, it's something u have on in the background while u are doing something and u check in on it when something happens... if u have played it as a youngster, u can really appreciate what the guys do, it really is impressive, not just the hitting but the fielding... it is the second best sport in the world (behind american football)... if you wanna watch paint dry, watch the world's most popular sport: soccer, omg... i can watch all other foreign sports: badminton, snooker, cricket, rugby, etc, but soccer is just unwatchably boring...

as for baseball players being fat and out of shape, i don't know where people get that from, position players are ripped and rock solid, not an ounce of fat on them, if they weren't they wouldn't make it... maybe some pitchers have a little fat, but even then only a few... regardless, they still have a very rare skill that is to be appreciated...

finally, yes, the season is about a month too long, it would be nice if they extended the playoffs a month and shortened the reg season by a month... the playoffs have become random outcomes because so short relative to the season's overall length...

I find it so insufferable. The season should end in August (World Series included), I wouldn't mind if it started later either, I got so sick of everyone complaining about rescheduling some of the earlier games because of unseasonably cold weather.

Baseball may be America's past time, but football is America's passion!
