Why does the Goodyear Blimp fly above domed stadiums like the Superdome?

Advertising.

That and they put a camera on it.

Show they can show the skyline of the city and the exterior of the dome.

Companies pay big money to have their products or services advertised on it during big games like the SuperBowl with worldwide television watching.

Seems like they would just save the gas, lol

well there were about 12 million people who came to the city for the event of MNF, but not even 100,000 to see the game, so to advertise, you are targeting alot more people than are at that game, plus, ESPN sure showed it alot, and thats great advertising too.
