| Does anyone remember when NBC showed a pro football game without announcers? |
|
it was about 15 =20 years ago....all you heard was the sounds of the game and the stadium announcer.i think with some of the broadcasters we have now they should do it more often. |

yes mojo, i remember it, it was something like 1981, jets vs miami... it was interesting, just the game, sounds of the crowd, no one talking... i guess people didnt take to it, so they didnt experiment with it anymore and gave up on the idea... |

i didn't know that ever happened but that is a good idea the people that watch football understand what is going on we don't need dick stockton telling us that the colts need to score on this drive Yep, tis true. I forgot which game it was, but it received the highest ratings ever. I do remember that game. I remember that. I think someone typed in what was going on. It you put the mute on, you'll get the same results now Yes, it was back in the 80's and it was great. They should do it more often. i think it was a Dolphins/Jets game. It was weird. Graphics would just pop up. What was really funny was not hearing anyone really for a half then going to the studio for halftime. That was strange. But why announcers feel as though they must fill all available air time with their nonsense is beyond me. Most games i watch i just turn the sound down and listen to the radio call instead. |
