Are the Seahawks owners airheads for not making a domed stadium considering the constant raining there?

All that money for the new stadium and no dome. Good job. Not!

After spending 3 months in Seattle from November to January, i know what you mean about rain. I saw the sun 4 times.
No they're not airheads. Football was meant to be played outdoors.

its there fault so why are you crying about it, its cool to play in the rain and snow isnt it?

i like stadiums the way they are. Get used to the rain it looks cool when somebody gets hit and mud shoots up. Some stadiums grass will drain rain

michigan stadium is getting rennovated at a 136 million dollar price. WHAT!? did they just say 136 million dollars?!

That's a good question considering the original stadium was the "King Dome."

I think most sports, especially, baseball, football (Amer) and soccer should always be played outdoors. The elements or climate the team plays in can offer them a distinctive home advantage. The Minnesota Vikings, for example, had one of the most lopsided advantages playing in the old Metropolitan Stadium (Outdoors and bitter cold!). I have heard that most visiting players only wanted to survive the experience. Seattle has an awesome outdoor stadium!

The "owner" of the Seahawks is Paul Allen, one of the founders of Microsoft so he is no idiot. Plus in the 41 years of the Super Bowl only 2 dome teams have won the Colts of last year and the Rams of the late 90's. You put a team in a dome and they struggle to compete on the next level with the teams that are exposed to the elements. The Packers have not been a winning team in years but that is the last place any team wants to play, let alone a dome team, in December when they are trying to get into the playoffs. Dome's just make a team soft. Plus you can get more seats out of an open air stadium the Redskin's FEDEX field is the largest in the NFL 90,000 + .....no dome.

I'm from Pittsburgh (no dome, of course). I think domes cheapen the game. Some of the most memorable games in history were played in down pours with mud pits for fields, howling winds, blizzards that obliterate the lines on the field and make it hard to see, etc. Football is supposed to be a tough sport, the players should be, and the fans should be too. Peyton Manning may be great, but we've seen what happens when the climate isn't "controlled". I'd be pissed if we built a dome.

the weather is very mild in Seattle compared to other open air stadium cities so there is really no need for it. Besides, only two dome teams have ever won the Super Bowl.

Is Paul Allen an airead?

Ummmmmm....

No.

Had you actually played football in your life, you would possibly understand the feeling of playing in inclement weather. It really does add something to the game. You are bitching because you may one day have to sit in harsh weather to watch others play.

That stadium is AWESOME!!! I think it is rated as the loudest stadium in the NFL due to some crazy design structure thing... As for the lack of dome... Seattle (my home town) is a beautiful city, and we're all used to the rain, so why block the lovely views? The retractable dome at Safeco for the Mariners is all well and good, but this is football, and I think we all love a good foul weather game!

Domed stadiums are a communist plot

part of football is enduring the elements

Football is a outside game and should be played outside. All teams should play in a outdoors stadium.

Football has historically been an outdoor sport, played in all types of weather, it's only in the last 30 years that domes have been used. First of all, buy some clothes for inclement weather, stop your crying because it makes your eye make-up run. Next, if the stadium has a dome, then it also must have astro-turf, which usually results in more injuries to the players, and by the way, did your high school team play in a dome? Maybe your college team plays in a dome? Domes are for sissy's......

.I think that they should have consider a dome. I been out there to visit it a nice stadium. From what I heard taxpayers would not pay for it. I agree with you they should have built a dome, because of all the rain they get.

No not really. Look at Soldier Field in Chicago. Then you have the Colts that are building a new stadium. They have 12,000 people on a waiting list to get tickets and the new stadium will only hold 15,000 more people. Does that make sense? Most of the people that want to go see a Colts game can't.

Football was made to be played outdoors.

Football is supposed to be played in crappy weather!!!
