What do you think is the LOUDEST college football stadium??

I keep hearing that Autzen Stadium in Oregon is the loudest. Is that true?

Autzen takes the cake....

鈥淪itting in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Oregon鈥檚 Autzen Stadium is one of college football鈥檚 hidden jewels. Before kickoff, Autzen is as peaceful as the Willamette River, which runs through Eugene just a few minutes from the stadium. After kickoff, the fans - even the alumni - forget who they are, where they come from and what their degree is in. The audience adopts a new collective identity for the next three-and-a-half hours: the 12th, 13th and 14th man. Autzen鈥檚 59,000 strong make the Big House collectively sound like a pathetic whimper. It鈥檚 louder than any place I鈥檝e ever been, and that includes 鈥淭he Swamp鈥?at Florida, 鈥淭he Shoe鈥?in Columbus and 鈥淒eath Valley鈥?at Louisiana State. Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die.鈥?- J. Brady McCullough, The Michigan Daily.

Go Ducks :)

Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

I realize everyone is saying their stadium is the loudest, and regardless of whether or not I went to Florida, I would still say the Swamp at the University of Florida is famous for being the loudest stadium in college football. I think it's because of the angle of the seating and the concrete structure that doesn't allow the noise to leave the stadium. It's always the #1 loudest in the NCAA Football games too. I'm sure many stadiums can get just as loud though.... like LSU's stadium... hence "earthquakes" registering on their Richter Scale on campus.

Flower3... you realize "59,000 strong" is a little over half of the number of attendees at a sold out Florida game right? The Swamp averages in the high 80,000s of attendees per game. Those must be some loud 59,000 fans at Autzen...

BRYANT-DENNY STADIUM!

roll tide!!!

=]

"The Bill" in Manhattan, Kansas is EXTREMELY LOUD, ask the Longhorns. It was a big complaint last year.

In terms of sheer size and the right acoustics, the Swamp is probably the loudest.

Although it sounds ridiculous, the Carrier Dome (when packed) is pretty damn loud. I've felt the floor shake at the Dome when 50000+ filled it for the Iowa game last year.

i know for a fact its the big house (Michigan Wolverines) its the largest (110,000 people) thats a whole city.

Oregon's football stadium being the loudest? HAHAHA... I don't think so....

From my personal experiences.... the good ol' Hawkeyes from Iowa would have my vote. The game they played against Ohio State at home was simply amazing....

ON IOWA... GO HAWKS!!

Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field.

Tiger Stadium aka. "Death Vally" in Baton Rouge, LA. Tiger fans are the loudest are around.

Tiger stadium in Baton Rouge registered on the Reichter Scale, but many stadiums are capable of being nuts when the game is on the line.

Memorial Stadium
Death Valley

(Clemson Tigers Staidum)

Everyone here is just giving thier home and favorite stadium rather than answer the question I havent been to many and I am a BC Eagles fan but from what I have heard from media and word of mouth its Carter Finler Stadium in NC.

I think that Florida is the loudest stadium. Oregon is reputed to be loud which is surprising especially when you consider it's not that big of a stadium.

LSU is the loudest by only a slim margin over Florida.

BRYANT DENNY STADIUM in TUSCALOOSA ALABAMA!!!!!
92,000 strong!!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!

It's got to be the Swamp. With a bunch of fans going CHOMP! CHOMP!. That or Penn State with a a bunch of fans going We are Penn State.

Yes is the answer to the question. I know that maybe Neyland is loud, Tiger stadium is loud, The Swamp is loud, and the Beaver Stadium is loud, but you cannot compete with the facts. Autzen at the Oklahoma in 2006 reached an unheard of 139 decibels, far louder then either Tiger Stadium ( 128 decibels was the loudet recorded there) and the Swamp ( 130 decibels was the loudest there) These are the facts and you cannot question them. Autzen is by far the loudest stadium in ALL of Football.

( And who ever put Michigan on the list has obviously never been there. The 10000 Duck fans at the game this year were louder then the 100000 Wolverines in the Stadium)

there is no place in college football and i mean no place that compare with autzen stadium in eugene. im sorry all you so called bigger schools but if you have not been to autzen you just cant imagine. i have been to michigan, the rose bowl, austin to texas games but i have never found any stadium that is as loud and as totally distracting to the opposing team as autzen. im sure that if you poll the players from around the country that have played there they would bear me out totally.

GO DUCKS
QUACK DAMNIT!!!

Hey Oregon fan, you lose because you stole that game from OU in 06. All top staduims are close, and you are only going to get homer answers here.

people, come on. science has spoken, and so has experience. There are plenty of of loud stadiums around, but autzen is just different. If you haven't been there you can't understand. the midwest doesn't know what football is, the big 10 and big 12 are both pathetic. autzen is louder and more intense than any other place on this country. I've been to plenty of the big football stadiums, it's just not the same. even cameron indoor at duke during the duke-unc game, which is absolutely nuts, just isn't the same

I've been to many many college games in my life, from the big house to the swamp in Florida. I flew in to Eugene Oregon in 2003 to see Michigan and was laughing at the 56k in attendance. I was like, "This place is going to be a push over." Soon the crowd started piling in, they were running the warm-up reels on the big screen, and I knew, after kick off that Autzen was a freakin nuthouse. That place was the craziest, loudest most unforgiving stadium I've ever seen. I could not believe how loud it was, I couldn't hear the guy next to me. The energy there, the anger, the hate, the noise for Michigan... it was mind blowing. People make the assumption that just because places like the Big House has 95k+ that its automatically louder. Bull Sh*t. What good is 95k if only 20k are screaming? Not one Mo Fo in Autzen was quiet.

Autzen Stadium. Hands down. "The Biggest Little Nuthouse In College Football" That place traumatized me.
