Why do the Giants and Jets share a stadium?

why couln't one team stay in the old stadium and keep all the revenue.

Becasue New York is stupid and won't build another stadium for the Jets. They were going to if NYC got the nod for the 2015 Olympics. But since London did, they decided to cancel plans for construction and everyone is pissed.

lets hope so Report It

because the old stadium was old and crappy, and plus they both are near eachother in new york, so they just decided to share a stadium for home games.

New York can't even rebuid the Trade Centers, and you think
there going to build a new stadium...plleeezzzz

In other words is called POLITICS

To save money...

Maybe they were being stubborn or didn't have the budget

DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH LAND COSTS IN NY...

THEY ARE MAKING A NEW STADIUM, IT WILL COST NEARLY 2 BILLION DOLLARS...

theres no space in greater new york. even if they stay in the old stadium and kept all the revenue, you will have double the cost. this way they split the cost and make double the revenue (since there is a game every weekend instead of every other or so in other stadiums).

They both get Money from the NFL and A stadium could only be used a max of 14 times a year in the NFL, this way the Max goes up to 27 times Preseason, playoffs and Superbowl included
They're from the same area same fan base makes all the sense in the world to split the cost
Very sound move for all parties involved
look its good money they both made the playoffs last year
hey Dan H we r building 3 stadiums at once plus the 7 buildings at the world trade center
so shut your mouth cause you really don't know what you r talking about

cuz they both suck

My guess is because neither one of these two teams are worth having their own stadium. Neither is as prolific as it use to be and i honestly don't think it's a huge concern. If the NFL isn't worried about it, we shouldn't either , lol

cause theres no land in NY so they share that dump in jersey. its no different than any stadiums that are shared by a football team and a baseball team still. as long as the schedule is coordinated well it works just fine.
it kinda sucks but its a hell of a lot easier and cheaper thats for sure.
and whos the guy that said they dont play in the same stadium??

Hello!! New York

Wow i didnt know they do

To conserve space---there is not all that much land around to start building new stadiums.

New Jersey is too cheap.

The Giants are getting a new stadium though.

To GUFFWAVE: The Giants have played in the Meadow lands since the 70's and they don't necessarily need to buy land in NY since they are already in New Jersey. don't get me wrong land in New York CITY is expensive.

they don't
