NFL Sunday Ticket on DIRECT-TV?! Is it worth a hoot?

How is the NFL Sunday Ticket?

direct tv is offering it to me for 64.99 for 4 months. it also includes the premeir package which is over 250 channels (the top package they offer) and the remainder of the NASCAR hotpass season too (which I dont really care much about). anyways.. so i get all that plus the NFL sunday ticket this year. should I sign up? im on charter cable right now and its ok. id like to see more nfl games but is this sunday ticket worth it?

is it in Hi-Defintion also?

I live in Panama, but originally from the States. My first year in Panama, I could only get 1-2 games on Sundays and that was only if they were not pre-empted by soccer , so I ordered Sunday Ticket my second year here and got every pre-season and regular season game for every team. I also got to watch all the play-off games including the super bowl, not on Sunday Ticket, but Direct TV offered more ESPNs so I never missed anything. To me it was worth every penny.

If you watch out of town teams, it is a requirement. A lot cheaper and more convenient than going to a musty sports bar every sunday and listening to everyone else cheer, etc.

HD is $999 extra for all games, not worth it for me.

Yes it is totally worth it. Go for it. You can get it hd if you have the right receiver and dish.

YEA BUDDY! its worth it i have it and its awsome u should defintily git it!

i wouldn't go without it, but it is pricey. almost all games are in hd.

This is a personal choice as well as a financial one. If you really like football that much then yes, it's worth it. But think about it logically: unless your a self-made millionaire, you probably won't have the time to watch EVERY game. I love football but I couldn't really see paying for Direct TV. I do believe that it is offered in HD but don't quote me on that. Overall, in my own opinion, it's not really worth it. Good luck and enjoy the season!

I have had Sunday ticket for six years. It is worth every penny. I am a Colts fan living in St. Louis though, so it is the only way I can see every Colts game on Sunday. I love being able to flip through and watch a little bit of every game every week.

Direct TV has excellent customer service too. Ask them to give you a free DVR if you sign up, it is the best way to watch football.

NFL Sunday Ticket rocks. They have one channel where yo u can have a bunch of the games tiled on the screen and pick one you want the audio on.

Short answer -- Oh yeah, it's worth it.

Longer answer...

If you're a diehard fan of one team -- and it's your local team -- then maybe it isn't. I've had MLB Extra Innings for years because I'm a big Yankee fan and I don't live in the area, so I'm out of luck when it comes to their games. But if I still lived in NYC, I wouldn't have it.

But back to football...

I just subscribed to the Sunday Ticket this year and honestly have to say I'm floored by what an amazing job they do with it. Still, it's not cheap.

There are a couple sites I found when I was looking into it that might help you out. This one gives a pretty detailed answer to the "Is it worth it?" question:

And this one gives more of an overview of the service and what you can expect from it:

P.S. Yes, a lot of it is in HD.
