What are some training techniques I can use to train for football?

I would like to find non-expensive ways to train either at home or in the weight room.

Three things for you to work on. Strength, Endurance, and Quickness. Stength and Endurance are easy: lift weights and run distance. However, do not confuse quickness with speed. Quickness refers to footwork and acceleration. Speed is just how fast you can run. One word: "Plyometrics". Stop reading this right now and do a search for the word "Plyometrics". You will be able to find lots of exercises and tequniques you can use to work on quickness. Plyometrics are awesome for any sport, and every athlete should do them. This in my opinion is more important than any of the other aspects of the game. Solid technique and footwork are what makes great players great.

running running running you can never be to conditioned for football

It depends on what position you want to go for, if you want to be a Q.B. try to lift weights on your dominate side get a brother or friend and throw them passes (about 1 hour everyday) thats how i became the starting Q.B. in my school, also make sure you have balance so you can break tackles and run around in the pocket, for a wide reciever you need to work on your speed and breaking tackles. this time get 2 brothers or friends and have one be the Q.B. and one the Cornerback and run plays like slants, curls, streaks, and options. try lifting for 30 minutes a day for this position. Remember if you are trying out for a team it might be hard to remember what the plays are they are all wierdly named, my favorite play is- oakland 8 redwing slant on 2. the main reciever slants left after 8 steps one reciever runs a streak and the other one does an outside curl. also run a lot ride your bike alot be active all the time you need to be able to stand cold weather and hot weather and you got to be able to stay active not get tired out so easily even though there is offense and defense and your only on half the time due to that its very tiring, and i'm a Q.B. think of how the wide recievers feel.

Jog, light weights, eat good.
