What training do I need?

I am going into my junior year next year and the coach i didnt want to play for left and my friends have convinced me to try football. I have only played tackle footballl with my friends. I have never worn pads or played against real competition. I am going out for WR. My friend how played WR on JV the past 2 years said I'd be competing with 4 or 5 others. He said I would be at least top 2 in catching ability. Also I am 5'10" so i would have height a little bit. However i can only run a 5.2 without pads and am not strong at all. Is there any advice out there to help me improve and get ready?(Drills, training, etc.) I have the talent i just need some help.

ur at a disadvantage startin that late but still anythin is possible. 5.2 is not so good, but 5'10 is. heres some tips. as a tall player u need to have a good vertical. try doin alot of squats and sky touches.(try and touch the sky without jumpin, like standin on ur toes a bunch of times). lift alot. junior year ull put on the muscel quik. bench, use dumbells and some olypic lifts. ask some coaches to teach u stuff like snatches or split jerks or cleans. to work on ur speed ur gonna have to run the forty alot. and do things lik speed skips. 3 cone drills. and hash build ups. look at youtube for the things they do at the draft camp

run hard and hit the weights

you have to get faster if you want to make pros
