Does anyone else thinks Derrick Thomas deserves to be in the Hall of Fame??

126.5 Career sacks in 169 Games. He only missed 6 games in his entire career. Holds the record (and 2nd place) for most sacks in a game, 7. Had 7 seasons with 10 or more sacks including 20 in 1990. 41 forced fumbles in his career. 1989 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and 1989 UPI AFL-AFC Rookie of the Year.

I think he does. He was the best player on a pretty good defense that lived and died by the turnover. He was also a class guy. Unfortunately he didn't get a ton of national media hype playing in KC and he falls well short of the mayhem that Lawrence Taylor caused. But who doesn't? He will be there someday.

Nope. One-dimensional, overrated player. Thomas steadily regressed after a great career start. Was also prone to disappearing for long stretches of games.

Sorry. Sack specialists need to have a little more on their resume.

Oh, and Marty liked him a lot too, meaning he has an even slimmer shot of getting in than would first appear.

coach Marty thought the world of him and despite being a much smaller guy than many he played with alot of heart and made the chiefs defense a real force in the 90's his life and career was too short but he made the most of the time he had and yes he deserves it

sorry but no

YES and YES, I don't get how he hasn't been inducted yet, especially after his untimely death a few years ago!! If Crackhead Irvin gets in, I don't get how Thomas isn't already in!!

Derrick Thomas should not get into the HOF he had good stats as long as you ignored his dirty play.

Absolutely, without a doubt, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

He was a good played, but not Hall of Fame caliber. And as far as his "untimely death" goes, he should win a Darwin Award for speeding and swerving in and out of traffic on icy rods, endangering not only himself but everyone else on the road with him. What if he had hit a mini van and killed 3 kids? His death was no more a tragedy than any other moron who gets killed driving recklessly or utters the famous redneck's last words, "hey y'all, watch this."

No he was to one dimensional.

I don't really think so. He's a very good player. I believe the HOF should be ONLY for GREAT players. He was, as many others here have stated, one dimensional. He was a bit of a liability against the run. I can't mentally justify putting thomas in the HOF when Art Monk isn't in.

There have been many players I thought didn't deserve the HOF who have gotten in. Lofton? Warren Moon?
