| Seriously, why not let the oddsmakers decide who the best college football team is? |

Seriously, now, do you think any oddsmaker would list Ohio State or Boston College as a favorite over LSU, Florida, Kentucky, USC or any of the top-tier SEC or PAC-10 schools? I'm so tired of seeing Ohio State considered a top-10 team and then seeing that they have not single ranked team on their schedule (okay PSU and Michigan finally cracked the top 25!!!). Arizona State hasn't played any ranked team yet. Who has Boston College beaten? Oklahoma lost to unranked Colorado and almost lost to unranked Iowa State. Kentucky beat the #1 team and the very next week lost to the #9 team. If there was a 16-team playoff, does anyone doubt that the SEC would have 6 or 7 teams advance in the first round and then have at least 3 of the final 4 teams. No wonder the Big-10 wants to keep the BCS. They'd never win another championship! And who should the top 16 teams in the playoff be? Of course, you'll rely on the records, etc. But if you want it be honest, just ask the oddsmakers. |

The BCS is basically a conspiracy of the power conferences to keep smaller schools out of serious contention. It guarantees big payoffs every year to schools that have no real claim to being the best. The Big 10 has been especially complicit. It looks seriously like we're headed for a repeat humiliation of Ohio State at the hands of a superior but unheralded team. Nice idea, though far away from being practical. I'm going with conspiracy too, it's all about making money for every team. Hands down the Pac 10 and the SEC consistently produce the best teams. I'm from OR, so of course a Duck fan. I'd like to see where the odds-makers would rank ducks 1,2, or 3. Can't argue with that much offensive power. IDK but your right about the tourniment I see 3 of 4 being of SEC schools the odds makers sure had that usc game right. ha ha |
