If the Bowl games are decided by the BCS rankings, why is the AP poll used by some announcers and sport writers to show the team rankings AFTER the BCS comes out?

Because announcers and sports writer feel the AP Poll is theirs and theirs alone. That is why it is so screwed up because it is based on opinion and whatever the person's agenda. I think the AP Poll should count for squat because it is lame.

They do that so that USC and their fans wont cry and whine. Regardless of the true BCS college champion, the AP will give it to their little surfer boys so their feelings arent hurt. I think the AP trophy is a Lee Corso bobblehead while the real trophy is a crystal football. Im curious where the one from 03 is being proudly displayed.....hmmm, thats right, its in Baton Rouge. Where is USC's 03 AP trophy? Im guessing on Pete Carroll's dashboard.LOL

Sports writers value their own opinions more than others. Some of them even played peewee football.

but, did anyone else but me notice that when abc had the bcs tv rights, they used to use the bcs rankings while cbs would use the ap poll rankings?

The Bull Crap Series vs. the Augmented Pick Poll both suck. I think that having playoffs wouuld be awesome. Maybe the season would go longer - hey that would be cool, more football to watch. :-D

the annoucers are tight with the sports writers which is what the AP poll is. they see it from the sports writers point of view. most announcers are old and the AP poll has been around much longer. the BCS is basically the same thing but human polls contrasted to computer polls.

Because the AP poll is voted on by a lot of ESPN reporters. ABC owns ESPN which a majority of the games are on those two networks. That's why you constantly see the AP rankings.

that's gay.the ap poll shouldn't be used.the bcs is messed up though.they base it on percentage.florida would be in the top 10 if they didn't.
