Urban Meyer has a team that fits his system. Speed kills and that is exactly what UF is going to do this coming year. What we lack on defense we more than make up for on offense. I was worried that if Florida won the championship that some people might actually have to show some respect and as a result Florida wouldn't have the chip on its shoulder that has become a staple of this program but looking at the polls and commentary I see that people are still underestimating The Gators. I'm sorry for all the doubters but Florida no longer has the hardest schedule in the nation and Tim Tebow, "No Mercy" Percy Harvin, Andre Caldwell, the five starters on the O-line, and the best recruiting class in the country are going to bring another championship to the swamp.And the fudge PAC 10 and the Big (talk) 10 fans can keep praying that a playoff system never comes into effect. That way they'll have a shot at being voted into the popularity contest known as the BCS championship.

The fact that a 1 loss UF team (loss to #11 Auburn at the time on a questionable play) had to get "lucky" by USC getting their 2nd loss to an unranked team to play in the championship shows how flawed the system is.

Ignorant people don't know any better. Those of us that love college football know a whinning little cry baby when we see one.

The SEC is the toughest confrence in NCAA football. Florida had a good team last year but they will not have the same success. Can Tebow even throw a football? It's obvious he can run w/ it and is an incredible athlete but how will he be as a starter? Doesn't matter anyway, LSU will kill the Gators.

Because they are still cry babies out there aka Michigan and Ohio State fans. Im an LSU fan though and very happy that an SEC team won the national championship instead of those yankees.

Why would you want ignorant people to respect your team?

People are always going to be bias to their teams or conferance. College football fans usually dont respect other programs out there, thats just the way it is. Everyone kows that Florida is good, but alot of people hate to admit it, so they dont. I personally am a Miami fan, and believe me, alot of people hate the Hurricanes. However everyone knows that Miami usually has a good team, so they hate them. If Florida wasn't a good team, no one would care. So consider it a compliment when people dislike your team.

I agree that Florida should get respect and that the BCS system is flawed. There should be a playoff system. But at the same time it is just as ignorant not to show respect to the Big Ten and USC.

Let me just say that the Pac10 isn't the easy conference everyone seems to think it is. I have to give it up to the SEC; the SEC is definitely the toughest conference in the country. But looking at the stats last year (especially at inter-conference games), you could make a good argument that the Pac10 was the 2nd-hardest conference in the country last year.

Just doing my bit to break the outdated stereotype that the Pac10 is the easiest major conference.

And trust me, I hate the BCS too. I'll always hate the BCS and especially Texas for the classless way in which they successfully lobbied to win the Rose Bowl bid that rightfully belonged to Cal 2 seasons ago (I'm a Cal fan). I'm DEFINITELY hoping for a playoff system too.

And let me also say that USC isn't THAT overrated. I think they could have put up a much better game against Florida than Ohio State did, because at least USC has enough team speed so that Florida can't totally outrun them like Florida did to Ohio State.

To be honest with you i dont no. reason why it hink so would be such as miami and fsu fans.. they have nothing to brag about.. so they still want to talk **** about florida. grant they always have and always will but about showing respect to me honestly i dont see respect being a big factor.. ya we won the title in ftball and bball and still really no respect.. but think about it.. respect doesnt effect our game.. we havnt had respect the past couple years and still dont but our game keeps rising.. so i dont see it as a big deal, and plus we just had the top recuting class in uf history and the best class in the ncaa this year so id watch out for us again and a few years down the road

The system is very flawed. I find it silly that ESPN is always touting the magnificence of Notre Dame, I mean come on.. Notre Dame... It's hard not to put Ohio State up there, have you seen the size of their stadium? Hmmm guess size does matter. USC has the best players money can buy. Texas.. gotta love Texas they can be the 2nd recruiting class in the nation and only have one out of state player. I have watched UF football, in the stands for many years. We used to be the homecoming team.. It's hard to get rid of that persona. the one poster who mentioned Timmy Tebow and his passing ability, uh yes I have seen him throw, quite magnificently actually.. (must be a Georgia fan). Don't under estimate the "boy wonder," Mr. Football for the State of Florida, there was a reason he received the title. Our defense will be young this year, but I think with the coaching we have, their talent will eventually shine through. Respect takes years to accomplish, I think if you look at the football powerhouse states, Florida, Texas, California, Michigan, and Ohio, they are states that have a historical football impact. University of Florida's impact is new, but from where I sit I have to wear shades the future is so bright. :-)
