How about this playoff system?

I have had some positive feed back on this, so I want everyone's HONEST opinion. I cam up with this system earlier this year and I think it has some promise. I can't seem to find a flaw in it and I was hoping that someone could tell if there even is a flaw in my system. What do you think?

Two words! NFL STYLE! BCS rankings are perhaps the most exciting part of the college football season, so we cannot get rid of it. I say they take the top 12 teams. The top 12 because the non-BCS conferences can get in to. They give the top 4 a first-round bye. Then we have a number system similar to the NBA. #5 against #12 (winners plays #1). #8 against #9 (winner plays #4). #6 against #11 (winner plays #2). #7 against #10 (winner faces #3).

This would only take 4 weeks. Bowls take about a month too. We could give a bye week after the second game to extend to 5 weeks. EVERYONE wants more college football anyway. This would satisfy all, I think. Any objections? (Be nice, lol)

Tru Blue: Why add games? 12 has proven to be enough already. You still have to beat good teams to be ranked in my system. You're talking about adding 2 more regular season games and then playing 4 playoff games. WAY TOO MANY GAMES! That adds two more weeks!

i think this is a decent system, but completely eliminating bowls is not an option, imo, because too much money is lost...also, it seems unnecessary to be putting 12 teams out there, not that many are capable of competing at the top level

i think the best way to go would be to cut your system in half, with 6 teams competing at the 5 bcs bowl sites(one site would host a first round game and the national championship)...also, the season doesn't need to be extended, we can play the preliminary round on christmas day, then the semifinals on new year's day, then the national title game on jan. 8

a playoff would be great but it would have teams scheduling easy teams. 14 season games would make it easier.

i think 16 teams 1 vs. 16.
2 vs. 15 would work better though

It sounds good but it would probably take a couple of years for colleges to get used to.

Ok so do we have other bowls??? What happens there???

I think the BCS does a good job at the end of the season picking who the top 8 teams are, and I would have to propose an 8 team playoff for the national championship...then let the teams ranked 9-25 or what have you, split up to play other various bowl games.

I don't know exactly what the other teams would feel about this that are in the top 8...would they want a bowl victory (like a minor BCS Bowl game) or a shot at a playoff national championship?

(I pick 8 teams because it wouldn't be a very long playoff...I don't think it's necessary to have long playoffs...especially since they don't even have any right now...)
