What happens in a 3-way tie in the Big East?

lets say WVU beats rutgers...what then? will they go by bcs rankings to determine who gets the bcs bid?

They go by who is the Highest in the BCS rankings, and that team represents the Big East in the game. I am a Pitt fan and they got the title a few years ago in a three way tie.

If that happens it would be the worst thing for the conference. None of 'em will get a BCS bid.

There is a very advanced tie breaker method that the Big East uses. It includes common opponents' records, records against each other team in the tie break, but one of the last breakers is the BCS standings. If a tie were to occur, the Big East would send a team to a BCS bowl, there is no question about that.

THe conference champ would be determined by tie breakers, but WVU would likely end up in a BCS game. As it stands four of the one loss teams ranked ahead of WVU in the BCS will play one another, ND and USC meet up in a couple weeks and Arkansas and Florida would meet in the SEC championship. that leaves Rutgers who they play, and for the three way tie would have to beat. That would move WVU up to fifth if not higher and almost assure them of A BCS birth.
