Why is the BCS not showing the Georgia Bulldogs any respect?!?

OSU lost to an unranked Illinois and only drop to 7. WTF!

The BCS is about what have you done for me lately. Lately, we've beat UF, AU, and a decent Troy team. The loss to Tenn. came a while ago and was to an SEC opponent. OSU may only have one loss but they also allowed Illinois to sit there with the ball for god knows how many minutes.

Another team completely exposed by the spread O.

You can't spell BCS without BS!

Forget the rankings. You might as well open a chicken and read the entrails to determine who really is number 1

It's ok. OSU will go down more when Michigan beats them.

media hype, ohio same as usc they both suk but they keep them there

It has been awhile since Georgia was their baby and you know how you have to care for your own.

BCS-Bull CR@P System
OSU-Overrated Sh!tty University

well they did loose to a then unranked south carolina... but i think they should make the SEC a professesional football league... since they all beat each other and whoop any top ranked OSU or USC...... >.>

well it computerized so and i dont think computers have respect for anyone

Because Ohio State is one of the media darling teams like USC, Notre Dame and Michigan. They could take a crap on a plate, and the media would call it chocolate mousse. I hope georgia beats out the Vols because the Vols suck and georgia has the best chance to beat LSU and get Oklahoma to the championship game where they belong.

Well lets look at the most obvious reason Georgia is below OSU in the polls. Hmm... probably because they have 2 losses and OSU only has one.

There are only 3 teams that matter in the Bull Cr@p System: LSU, OSU, and USC. Favorites every week. Example: Michigan loses to unranked Wisconsin - they drop 9 places. OSU loses to unranked Illinois - they drop 6 places. It doesn't matter who those 3 teams lose to, they'll only drop a few places if they lose.

But in actuality, this is supposedly how it really works. Why they aren't showing GB any respect I have no idea. Its all about the name brand...

In response to the controversy created by the voters in the AP poll naming USC as the No. 1 ranked team at the end of the year and a general consensus that USC would have been a preferable opponent for BCS Champion LSU (over Oklahoma, the actual opponent), [1] the formula was completely rewritten. Supporters of USC and the media in general criticized the fact that human polls were not weighted more heavily than computer rankings and this criticism led to the new math.

* AP Poll: A team's AP Poll number is the percentage of the possible points it could receive in the poll. As an example, in the final regular-season poll of 2003, LSU received a total of 1,580 out of a possible 1,625 points from the voters, giving them an AP Poll percentage of 97.2.
* Coaches' Poll: This is calculated in the same manner as the AP Poll number. For LSU, their final regular-season number in this poll would have been 99.4 (1,516 out of 1,525 possible points).
* Computer Average: The BCS used six ranking systems, with the New York Times opting not to participate. In the calculation, the highest and lowest ranking for each team are dropped. Then, it will give a team 25 points for a Number 1 ranking in an individual system, 24 points for Number 2, and so on down to 1 point. Each team's set of numbers is then added, conveniently making the number compatible with the percentages from the two polls. To address concerns about loss of the schedule strength factor, the description of the computer rankings explicitly included schedule strength as a consideration.

For USC, dropping their highest and lowest computer rankings would have left them with four third-place finishes, worth 23 points each for a total of 92, while LSU would have had four second-place finishes for a total of 96. The BCS averaged the three numbers obtained above, divided the result by 100, and converted it to a decimal fraction. This system placed twice as much emphasis on human polls than computer rankings, and made it highly unlikely that the top team in both human polls would be denied a place in the title game, as it happened in 2003-04.

Face it...the peoples opinion dominates the BCS. The computers will put in the National Championship whomever the NCAA thinks can generate the most viewers aka money. Trust me, people WANT LSU to play for the national title, and the system will do whatever they have to to F*ck Oregon even if they win out. The BCS protects the financial interests of the NCAA. I am more convinced now than ever. It has nothing to do with being fair, or being a good team. Its about being popular.

they lost to Tennessee by three touchdowns. I say take your #8 ranking and like it.

Beats me. Yea, Georgia lost some games they probably should have won, but who hasn't?

Because OSU only has one loss, didn't get destroyed by a terrible tennesee team, and let's not forget that the Illini are CURRENTLY ranked(much more important that what they were ranked at the time of the game) higher than Cal, Kentucky, or Colorado. Not to mention Tennessee and South Carolina. Not really rocket science.

Thats the stupidest question iv ever seen.....
UGA is the highest ranked team with 2 losses.........To south Carolina and Tennessee..........But why state the obvious....I would be happy to be in the top 10 If i were a UGA fan.....

Georgia has 2 losses OSU only has 1 loss

I think that they are getting respect, they're in the top 10 even after getting spanked by Tennessee.
