How is it that a 59 yr old that graduated around 35 yrs ago is still eligible to play on the college football team? His name is Mike Flynt. |

Young at heart maybe? |

he could've gotten hurt and left college/athletics early. After watching the movie with Robin Williams and Kurt Russell in it, with his buddies, he must have been inspired. Some people do not get their Doctorates until later in life. Perhaps this is a stipulation. He at least meets the physical standard for participation and the news article says he has money; so why not? Its not like high school where you can't go back. If you have the time, money and physical attributes...go for it. Because he never played before...Therefore his eligibility is not used up... Because he didn't play originally and never used up his eligibility... Heard about that on the radio he is apersonal trainer and stays in shape or somthingbut he played for a small school. he didnt play his senior year and was still eligeble. his college status never left him because he never went pro Then his next appearance is on Jerry Springer. like others have said, he still has his senior year of eligibility, because he got kicked off the team (and school i think) before his senior season started. I think it's crazy, and he could get hurt, but it looks like he's kept himself in top physical condition. So good luck to him! I think it's great! Just because he is 59 doesn't mean anything, he's no doubt, in better shape than some of the young ones playing! |
