The 1971 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Why? Because they beat the second best team of all time - the 1971 Oklahoma Sooners. They don't call it the 'Game Of The Century' for nothing.

They have a hard enough time trying to figure out who the best team of any particular year, so how do you think they can figure it out? I say the 68 bucks, they beat OJ Simpson and lived to tell about it.

I would say last year's Ohio State team, running the regular season and with unbelievable playmakers like Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr., Antonio Pittman, Gonzalez, Lauranitis, on and on...but they got absolutely pummeled by Florida as everyone knows. So I think it's gotta be the 1907 Penn team that went undefeated with an average margin of victory being 67. They had 6 heisman candidates, never gave up more than 7 points in any game, and turned the ball over one time as well as only punting one time. Joseph Lammettman was the quarterback and he threw for 64 TD's in only 9 games. He completed 88% of his passes and the coach that year was Lou Holtz.

College Football has 100 years of awesome football. There is no way for us that are in our 20s-30's to decide which team was the best.
In my lifetime I have to say that USC has been that team.
In the past you have teams like Ohio State and Oklahoma.
In the beginning of college football, it was dominated by Princeton. Those games and the way they were, are totally different then the way they do the championships today.
