Matt Leinert was awesome in college football---?

Why is he playing for the sucky Cardinals?

Because of the draft system, the worst teams have the rights to the best players. This is to encourage parity and better competition. The NFL doesn't want eternal bottom dwellers, so teams like the Cardinals and Lions get the opportunity to draft fine young promising players like Leinert every year until they improve.

Actually, Leinert dropped all the way to the 10th pick overall, so several NFL teams felt there were better players available. Or perhaps they were unwilling to pay Matt the big bucks they thought he would ask for.

For that exact reason.. He was awesome in college.

Bad teams = Eearly draft picks.

It's a way to balance out the draft.

Quite a few team passed on Leinhart. He slipped down to #10 and was not the 1st QB selected in the draft. Tennessee picked Vince Young and the Jets picked an offensive lineman.

In USC he had Jarrett, Smith, Turner. In Arizona he justhas Fitzgerald. Also The teams in College aren't as good as the ones in the NFL. In college he had the best team around him. In the NFL he has one of the worst teams around him. If he was put on a team like the bears he would be doing great.
