Alabama~Auburn is definitely my favorite but very well known! LSU vs. Arkansas WVU vs Pitt that's a hard one to answer since it wouldn't be "the best" if no one talks about it... mommyday got it right oregon oregon state.. hasnt had big implications like it has in the past so its usually under the radar and yet in the past 9 years the home team has won despite wut the other was ranked BYU vs Utah Michigan and Notre Dame. I mainly think its funny because my dad loves both of those teams. They do not love each other though. Well you probably won't like my answer but if you want a college football rival nobdody talks about you need to eliminate a lot of teams. I'd say Colorado vs Colorado St for several reasons, 1- the teams aren't very good right now, 2- its played early in the year, 3-Colo St plays in a small non BCS conference, and 4- it's in the Mountain Region of the US where is pretty bear out there. Any Team that plays "BOSTON COLLEGE" (BC) Oklahoma- Oklahoma State Army vs. Navy Florida vs. Florida State I remember at 1 time it was Tulane-LSU, but Tulane has gone way down in ability to compete. Maryland vs. Virginia is a war that does not get the recognition it deserves. mount union-vs-baldwin wallace OU vs UT- no not Okalahoma vs Texas but Ohio University vs University of Toledo. wvu-pitt right around one hundred games played, schools 60 miles apart and they really do hate each other give it to 80's man. Mount Union and BW is huge. it's division III so no one really knows about it but both teams are usually some of the best in DIII. Mount Union has won something like 10 of the last 13 DIII National Championships or something ridiculous like that The Backyard Brawl: West Virginia-Pitt is the best of those not talked about. Most of you picked rivalries that are talked about! Read the question. During the 50's and 60's the LSU Ole Miss rivalry had NC implications......It also dates back to the late 1800's... I'd say regionally for me USC vs UCLA by far, but two teams that hate each other more than anything I'd say Michigan v Ohio St. Oh and historically, Harvard v Yale. florida vs. florida state... it may not be that big of a game, but it is HUGE when it comes down to it all for all the students at both schools. Michigan and Appalachian State********** Recently Georgia vs. LSU has been a pretty friendly rivalry that has national title implications as the winner of the rivalry is often the SEC Champ. |
