Notre Dame
The U

Nebraska :D

this is a stupid question.Ask a real question next time.

Notre Dame. They constantly are one the highest sellers of merchandise. They have several major motion pictures made about their football program (Rudy, Win One for the Gipper). They are one the most recognizable teams around the country in any sport on any level. They have the winningest tradition. They have their own television contract to broadcast their home games. What more could you want? They are also one of the most hated programs in the nation, which means that too many people pay attention to them.

THE Ohio State University. 7 nat'l titles (going on 8), the greatest rivalry in college football (OSU vs. UM), one of the best coaches in the history of football (Woody Hayes), and a following that makes up pretty much the entire state of Ohio and still has a lot of followers elsewhere from Ohio. When it comes to football, Ohio is like Texas (only better); its the most important sport. ever. That's why the best players in one of the best states all go to OSU and make it the way it is.

Notre Dame, hands down

there are no franchises in college football

The University of Michigan Wolverines.

In 127 seasons of excellence....

Played in the first ever bowl game - defeated Stanford 49 - 0 on January 1, 1902 in Pasedena, California at the Rose Bowl (also why all post season games are called "bowl" games).

Highest winning percentage in college football (all time, all divisions).

Most conference championships (any division, any conference,
ANY sport).

11 national championships; 1901 -02 - 03 - 04 - 18 - 23 - 32 - 33 - 47 - 48 - 97.

1901 total points scored...Michigan - 550 opponents - 0.
1902...UM - 644 opp. - 12.
1903...UM - 565 opp. - 6.
1904...UM - 567 opp. - 22.
1905...UM - 495 opp. - 2.

Winning record vs. all conferences they have played (including independents).
Winning record vs. all opponents they have played but 16.

3 Heisman award recipients:

Tom Harmon, who led the nation in scoring in 1939 and 1940. He also received a standing ovation from the crowd at Ohio State after the 1940 game in which he led the Wolverines to a 40 - 0 victory, scored 3 rushing and 2 passing touchdowns, 4 extra points, intercepted 3 passes and punted 3 times for an average of 50 yards....

Desmond Howard, who set or tied 5 NCAA and 12 University of Michigan records and led the Big Ten in scoring in 1991....

Charles Woodson, who was, and still is, the only defensive player to have been awarded the Heisman Trophy.
