| Would you want a Sweet 16 in college football? |

I know the basketball tournament starts with 32 teams, so why not take the top 16 of the 25 teams? You could play it like the college basketball tournament, have the Elite 8, Final Four, then the championship. |

Yeah because the BCS ranking system has too many flaws. A 7 ranked team, like the Bucks, should have a chance to make it into the championship. |

Yes, a playoff is needed. It is good enough for all other sports and even football at every other level. yes, please give us a playoff. but i think 8 teams is enough, hell at least give me a 4 team playoff!! Yes. But that would make to much sense Yes, they need some sort of a playoff system. Just matching up the 1 and 2 teams doesn't necessarily mean they are the best two teams. A playoff system would allow the best teams to get through and end up playing in the national championship game. Sweet 16? No. 8 would be a better number ... 3 weeks of games and you have a national champion. No more whining about a 14-0 team playing a 13-1 team while you have one or two 14-0 teams sitting at number 3 and 4. Until a playoff system is included to determine the College National Champion, you will always have the argument of why did my team not get to play for the national championship since they are 14-0 and a 13-1 team was ranked number 2. What is USC? Nobody can seriously call themselves the national champs until there's a playoff system. Absolutely no. I think a playoff is needed but it would either be 4 teams or 8. 16 is way too many. 16 teams means that a team would have to win 3 games before going to the national championship. Assuming that the national championship would remain at it's current place in the calendar, that would mean that the teams would have to play every single week before taking a bye week before the national championship game. These guys just played a 12 or 13 game season. Remember this isnt the pros. There is a reason these guys dont play a 16 game season. It's just too much. Those guys would be so exhausted by the time of the national championship game, it would not be a good game. I think that a 4 team playoff would do much better. no. choosing the top 8 or top 16 teams of the top 25 would still not give you the true champion, there would still be teams that would get skipped. the only way is to divide each conference up equally and make them all play a conference championship game. then the conference champ would play off against each other. scrap the freakin rankings cause in the end it is still people deciding who is number 1-16. with a conference championship, you get the best teams from each conference and clearly get a true national champion. NO!!! it takes all the fun out of college football if they had a sweet sixteen then watching football every saturday wouldn't be as fun cause the whole season for top teams is do or die so with a tournament would take the fun out of the whole regular season I say that the big 10, pac-10 and big east should add teams to make two divisions of six teams each (e.g. ACC, big 12, and sec). Each of the six major conferences would hold a championship game. The winners would enter an 8 team play-off with the two highest rated teams from the lesser conferences (e.g. hawaii and boise st). All other teams could play in a traditional bowl game. I agree completely. I swear the only reason the NCAA does not adopt it is because their current system creates controversy, and controversy = publicity. I would prefer an elite 8. After all conference games are decided. This would be how it would work as an example: go to www.eventphotocards.com yeah so USC can dominate DUHHHHHHHHHHHH yes so USC can dominate DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH @$$3$ |
