5-a or 3-a high school?

hi I was wondering what the diffrence is between a 5-a and a 3-a high school?I was wondering whats the diffrence between collages that scout a 5-a or 3-a high schools?I was wondering because I go to high school next year and if the 3-a school only has crappy teams that scout.I will go to a 5-a high school.what whould you do?

I played high school football here in Tulsa,OK, and from what I understood, the only difference between a 5a school and a 3a school is the size of the school, or its amount of students. I went to what's considered a 6a school here, so our division and playoff games were against fellow 6a schools, but there were several 4a and 5a schools that would have probably repainted the field with us if they had the opportunity to play us. While playing, I often thought that the competition in 5a was way better than 6a outside of like 3 or 4 powerhouse schools. You may get more exposure at a bigger school but here in Oklahoma, the Sooners, OSU Cowboys, and the TU Golden Hurricanes, always sign players below the 6a division in this state and in Texas, so if you've got the talent and you're being productive, they'll definately scout you. However let's say you end up in the smaller school and you're killing the competition but getting no exposure, have your coach or a family member put together a highlight tape and send it to all the schools you want to play for. There has been a lot of stories of players getting scholarships like that.

I think the difference is in the number of people that attend that school. It will be ranked higher like 5-a because they have a larger pool of students to choose from to pick the team. And about scouting, if your team or you is good enough, you'll get looked at, regardless of your school size.

Hope that helps...

A 5a is school is a bigger school. Its typically based on the population of the school. Scouts go to schools where there are good athletes. If you are a slightly above average athlete you will probably succeed at a 3a school. You may be some what successful at a 5a school as well, but due to more students there is a higher chance there will be better athletes (as with everything else).

Granted, more scouts go to watch players in5A schools, but I have known several 3A players who have been scouted. The scouts will find you if you stand out enough in a 3A school.

The difference is about 2000 students. As for the 5A-3A thing, its all on the program your in, there are recognizable schools in both, although if your a college worthy player, won't matter where you go, as long as you do what you need to do, Less competition trying to take your spot in 3-A., Here in Texas, which takes it's Highschool ball seriously, Southlake Carroll the back to back 5A national champions, about 10 years ago was a 3A Champion.

Every state has it's own system of dividing high school sportst into classes. Football has the most classes, most states have around 5 or 6, but Illinois has 8. The classes are ranked purely on the size of the school, but very often, bigger schools have better teams. You have a much better chance of being scouted if you play for a 5A school over a 3A school but you will probably be up against tougher competition.
