| Calvin Johnson worth #2 pick this year?? |
|
Is the Detroit Lions wide reciever Calvin Johnson worth the number 2 pick in this year's NFL draft? If you don't think so who do you think they should have drafted in that spot? |

I'm still worried about Adrian Peterson getting injured. The thing about Calvin Johnson is that he has T.O.'s physical attributes with speed similar to someone like Chad Johnson. Adrian Peterson is the only other player that you could argue, because the quaterbacks were not very good in this draft. You could have also argued that Joe Thomas would have helped them on the offensive line. If i had to make a prediction for the future, i think Peterson will be injury prone, and Calvin Johnson will become a top 2 or 3 receiver in the league. |

the jury is still out seeing that the Lions are 100% better this year than last, and Calvin is getting a lot of play time, I would say yes, that was a good pick. CJ is doing a great job. he doesn't always get the ball thrown in his direction because of the talent the lions have on offense, but when he does get the ball, he does a good job. he was well worth the pick. He probably fits in with Marty ball the best, so from a Lions standpoint, yes. But with the depth they already have at WR it probably would have been better to have drafted AD or Lynch at the RB position. I think Calvin Johnson will be great, but Adrian Peterson is better than anyone thought he would be. If they had the draft to do over again, knowing that Kevin Jones would be hurt and Tatum Bell would flop, they'd probably take Peterson. Time will tell on that one. Ummmmm... He is worth a helluva lot more than Reggie Bush was at #2 last year! Johnson might become a great player. Still I laugh when the so-called 'experts' were saying that he was a better player than Peterson. That should have been turned into a comedy routine. The DVD would have sold out here in Oklahoma where we saw every game that Peterson played. We knew that peterson was the best back out of Oklahoma (or anywhere) since Barry Sanders, and maybe better. He might not be big right now, but wait about 2 years or so. You really can't judge him by this season so far. He appears to have started hot and cooled off, but don't forget that he's been battling through injuries. He hurt his back in the Eagles game (week 3), and he finally started making it through full practices last friday, and then on Sunday he had another pretty productive game (3 catches for 47 yards). I'd expect him to start putting up more numbers as the season drags on, and he's back at 100%. |
