How much respect does Jacksonville Jaguars get??

I live in Jacksonville and I always hear callers whining on the local radio that the Jags do not get nationwide respect. So.. I want to put the question out there. If you are an NFL fan from another city do you respect the Jags and what are your thoughts of Leftwich as the QB to lead the team?

I used to live in jax and I used to listen to those same fans you speak of ...LOL seriously. LOL there is that pete presco show and that other channel with hacker and macmanus or whatever I think....LOL

Man look, Jax fans are spoiled. The worst thing that could happen to a franchise happened to them. They go too much too soon. They went all the way to the AFC championship in like their 3rd year of existance and those fans think it should be like that every year.

Now they are so mediocre they feel no one respects them...etc.

Bottom line....that team was built to beat the (old) tennessee titans team that used to kick their a%% year in and year out in Alltel and in Tenn. They forgot about the rest of the NFL..LOL

When Del Rio was brought in that is what he said with his own words...he was told by the owner to beat the titans....that guy went out and designed that ultra physical SLOW *** team......and now they are wondering why they can't beat the colts now. LOL.

I could go on forever but this is way too funny because I know exactly what you are talking about. LOL gotta love jax fans.

Do they still think D.Garrard is the best thing happening since slice bread?

they are quite weak. leftwich is a good qb but who does he throw to? they need to make the playoffs to start getting respect, just like the hawks.

Let me start off by saying I RESPECT all teams. However I do not like the Jags very much, and I don't think that they are a very good team all around. Leftwich is okay, but he is not a great quarterback. If he was surrounded by a good supporting cast, the most you would be able to get out of him is a good performance, maybe deep into the playoffs. But the pieces are still not there for a championship caliber team.

they're one of the least talked about teams in the league so mainly just that they're a sub par team with a sub par qb

Not Really, They should.

I think there a very good team. And Leftwich is a good QB. I like the team and they have a chance at the playoffs.

They have to make the playoffs first to get respect. This coming from a jags fan. Oh, and yeah they can beat the Colts.

i respect the Jags, they are a good team and their runningbacks are great. The thing that got the nation wide fans was when they brought Garrard in. But yea i think they deserve respect.

The jags have the pleasure of being the 3rd team added in one state. You have the Dolphins and the Bucs.... oh yeah, there's that other team...

As a football fan, I like the jags and even went to one of their games. They do pack the stadium! But they get burried under the radar. This is because of their record...

They win during the season, and sometimes make it to the playoffs, and then fizzle out. So the exposure they might get is lessened. The way to cure this is to make a run deep into the playoffs for 2-3 years, and beat a good team along the way. I'm not saying you even have to win the superbowl, or even get there - but a few big wins in the postseason will draw attention to the team.

As far as Leftwhich, my opinion is he has no personality. He may be a good QB, but I don't know a thing about him. The popular QB's have a few things in common - they win and they have national exposure. Leftwich - not so much.

The team also needs some marque names and big plays to get on sportscenter. the Jags are known for being a stout defense, so there aren't a lot of highlights to show in a low scoring game, unless there's a lot of turnovers.

Jones-Drew is going to be a great player, so his big runs should appear more on national sports media. I hope the QB things turns out - if its Leftwich or not.

I think they get the respect they earn. They are a wild card caliber team most seasons, not a championship team and not a terrible team. A lot of teams fall into that area, like the Jets, the Jags, the Bengals for example. I think the Bengals get a little more attention because they have improved to that level from being a horrible team for so long, but I dont think those teams get treated unfairly.

I'm a diehard Colts fan and I have to say that the Jags make me nervous. They have a great chance of winning the division this year.

Their secondary took a big fall this year. They're going to suck..

I am a former resident of Jacksonville. I lived there during the Superbowl and worked in the Tourism Industry. I am a die-hard Atlanta Falcons Fan. I have love for the Jaguars, but their hometown residents DO NOT. It is not unsual to ride near the stadium on gameday in Jax, and one will not get caught in traffic. Thats crazy. Leftwich should be a great leader for the team.

I respect them. Their defense is very good. I think they will be a playoff team this year.

I have respect for them. I love them, I live here. I mean with guys like hometown boy Mathis and MOJO, we should be ahead. But its those minor and avoidable errors that kill us. It's also the fact that we need to take every game seriously. I think the Jags have matured now and will grow now. More and more Jacksonvillians are appreciating the JAGS. You know the Jags motto right? Let's do this!!!!
